  烏の羽のような艶のある、漆黒に近い深い黒色。 その色味は単なる黒ではなく、光の当たり具合で微妙な艶や質感を感じさせる点が特徴。 万葉集における「髪＝烏の濡れ羽色」とは、黒く艷やかな女性の髪を形容する言葉。 日本では、黒は格式や奥ゆかしさを象徴する色とされ、着物や漆器などで高貴な印象を与えるために好まれた。 A deep, almost jet-black color with the luster of a raven's feather. Its color is not simply black, but is characterized by a subtle sheen and texture depending on how the light hits it. In the Manyoshu, “hair = the color of a raven's wet feathers” is a term used to describe a woman's black, shiny hair.   薄くくすんだ紅紫色。 その名前には「規定から外れた中途半端な色」という意味がある。 平安時代の格式において、紫は『深紫』『浅紫』の二色のみ規定されており、これには当てはらまない「許色（ゆるしいろ）」（身分を問わず着用を許された色）である。 「禁色」に当てはまらない紫色ということで、人気となった。 A light, dull reddish-purple color. Its name means “halfway color“.
